High speed train from London to Brussels
Liv's favorite hotel! Not the best location (which, sadly, tainted our opinion of Brussels), but the hotel was an artsy, comic-style decor. Right up her alley!
Apparently a famous singer was staying in this hotel, performing a concert that night. Even when someone explained who she was and showed us a photo, we had no clue who she was.
We, of course, had to try an authentic Belgian Waffle! Loved the different toppings,
especially Nutella and fruit!
Little peeing boy "Manneken Pis". Statue of a young boy who saved Brussels from disaster when the enemy was at the gates ready to bring down the city walls with gunpowder. The little boy saved the day when he urinated on the fuse, extinguishing it.
Overall, our experience in Brussels was the least favorite of our trip. Felt very dirty and unsafe to us, especially after leaving London, which was a very clean and tourist friendly city. We were excited to get out of Brussels, and see some more rural areas of Belgium!
"Smurfs" were created by a Belgian cartoonist, so we saw them in several places in Brussels. This is the ceiling of a building outside of the train station.
