The Great American Eclipse was August 21, 2017. Idaho Falls happened to
be in the path of totality- almost 2 full minutes of darkness! This was a
HUGE deal! Hundreds of thousands of people from all over the world,
including NASA, came to Idaho to view the eclipse. It wasn't as insane
as all of the news channels had it hyped-up to be, but there was
definitely an increase in traffic the few days before, day of, and days
afterward. We were lucky enough to enjoy it from our own driveway :)
We
were also lucky to have visitors! The Wheeler's drove over from Twin
Falls, stayed with us the night before, and watched the eclipse with us.
Always more fun with friends, especially if those friends are the
Wheeler's!
My cousin, Elise, brought us an eclipse viewing kit, complete with Moon Pies and sparklers!
Sparklers at 10:30 in the morning!
