Valentine's Day

Chalk Art

I've been having fun with the chalkboard in our kitchen. For the longest time I wasn't sure what to use it for, but have enjoyed making these themed boards. They aren't original- I trace them and then fill them in with chalk. Suprising how much time they can still take to complete though!

Grandpa in the Military and Grandma's Journals

Just a couple of random things I ran across while visiting Grandpa. This is a picture of him when he first enlisted in the military.
Grandpa also let me borrow Grandma's personal journals and read through them. I love history and scrapbooking and record keeping, so this was so much fun for me! Grandma kept a journal beginning around the time my parents were first married up until just before she passed away. It was fun to look for important dates in my life (like the day I was born) and read about Grandma's thoughts. She was always very complimentary of everyone. She wrote about what a cute mother my mom was with me. She wrote about going to my wedding, and about the days both of my girls were born. I requested to have her journals when she passed away, but wasn't able to get them. I did take a photo of one of her handwritten journal pages, and am hoping to get a copy of the journals in their entirety someday!

Chic Fil A Daddy Daughter Date Night

The girls look forward to Chic Fil A Daddy Daughter Night every year. They get to have their dad's full attention, dress up, ride in a limo and, of course, eat at Chic Fil A. Dave is always such a good sport and they always have a great date night!
