Fun at the Ranch

One of our favorite places to visit..LadyBug Grandpa's ranch in Bone. We spent a couple of days camping, kayaking, razor-riding, hiking, roasting marshmallows, doing our nails and just enjoying the last week before school starts. So much FUN!!

Kind of funny story...Addi had never been on a kayak and was slightly...OK absolutely...terrified of being on the kayak by herself. At one point she had gotten herself stuck in a willow tree, and kept paddling forward into the tree, instead of backwards like I was trying to instruct her to do. There was NO way I was jumping in that dirty creek to get her, so I was patiently trying to tell her how to paddle backwards. She just kept paddling forward as she's screaming the entire time. Then she suddenly is in absolute hysterics. Come to find out there was a dead beaver in the willow tree and every time she tried to get away from it, she was paddling towards it instead. Talk about nightmares! She told her counselor the next week that her biggest fear was beavers. Imagine the look I got from her counselor for that one! It took some explaining!
She even wrote about it later at school. Poor kid!

 We love our LadyBug Grandpa!

A trip to the ranch isn't complete without a ride in the old Chevy :)

Or a climb up to the owl...

Or a visit to the outhouse. Brittney swore that the only place she was able to get reception was in the outhouse...with the door closed. At least that was her explanation for spending so much time in there ;)

Addi loves the ranch so much that she offered her entire savings to grandpa as partial payment for the ranch. Any by partial I mean probably less than 1 millionth of the total purchase price ;)
 Every penny counts, right?
Such a fun trip! Can't wait to go back!
